Discover Bath: A Must-See Destination in the UK

 

Bath, located in the heart of England, is a must-see destination for history buffs and travellers alike. While you can no longer bathe in the original Roman Baths, visitors can explore the beautifully preserved site, complete with its ancient pools, artefacts, and interactive exhibits. 

They are still uncovering parts of this astonishing historical treasure trove so the site and artefacts are constantly expanding.  I visited in 1980 and loved seeing the the beauty and ingenuity of the Romas as I wandered through what was available to see of the baths then. I was amazed by how much more was restored in 2024 which profoundly enriched the visiting experience.

Quick Tip:

Make sure to book  your tickets to the Bath - Roman Baths well in advance.  The entry slots can fill up quickly as they only allow in a limited number of people at a time.  They also seem to be a bit strict about entry times.

Take some time to wander around the city of Bath.  Bath Abby is free and lovely to wander through and the Bath city centre is charming.
