Transportation

Getting around while travelling can be one of the most important aspects of your journey. Whether you're exploring bustling cities, venturing into remote destinations, or simply commuting between locations, having reliable and convenient transportation is essential. From public transport like buses, trains, and ferries to private options such as car rentals, ride-sharing services, or even bicycles, the choice depends on your destination, budget, and preferences.

We find that doing a bit of research and planning ahead will ensure a smoother experience, especially in areas where transport options may be limited.  And you won't miss out on that special thing you wanted to see.

At the end of the day, efficient transportation allows you to focus on enjoying your travels without unnecessary stress or delays.

Quick Tips

Car Rental: When renting a car always take photos of the car including the mirrors even if they say it is not necessary. take pictures of the whole car.  This  prevents the car company saying you did damage on its return.

We have also found it is an unnecessary expense to buy travel insurance when you are renting a car on line. Get the car insurance when you pick up the car from the rental folks.  It will save you money and hassle in the long run.

Public Transportation: I can't think of anywhere we've traveled from the centre of Peru to London where public transportation hasn't been perfect.  Now we haven't been to dangerous places so that could be different but taking buses or trains allows us to see the country side and interact with locals which is why we travel.
