Flying can often get you there fast but not always
Getting To and Around Airports
It may be obvious but all airports are not created equal. Familiarising yourself with the layout and transport options ahead of time can save both time and stress, ensuring your travel experience is as smooth as possible. We suggest that you check both where the terminal(s) are - some airports have many terminals a long distance apart (I'm think Madrid here) and the interior of the terminal in case the signs are not in a language you understand. Having said that most airports also have english translations.
Many airports are well-connected by public transport, including trains, buses, rental car drop offs and airport shuttles, which are often the most economical options. For those seeking convenience, taxis and ride-share services like Lyft or Uber are widely available and can drop you directly at your terminal.
If you're driving, airports generally offer short-term and long-term parking options, with some even featuring valet services.
Once inside the airport it can be confusing if the language is foreign to you, signage will help you locate check-in counters, security checkpoints, and departure gates. Be sure to give yourself planty of time.
Many airports also provide accessible facilities and mobile apps to further simplify your journey.

Airlines
Airlines change. What was once a great airline might not be so great now. If you are booking yourself check the recent reviews that should give you an idea of what the airline is like now.
Tips for easy fligths
When booking myself I use one of the flight apps. I have had good luck with Kayak and Expedia. I have found they sometimes have different information so I check two or more to see what their best deal is.
Check the details. Just because the price is great doesn't mean that it will be the best value. Remember many airlines are now charging extra for luggage and some for seats. Most international flights will give you a meal but I would check that too.
Make sure the plane is flying into the airport of your choosing. Many cities have more than one airport.
