Always keep your valuables secure and avoid displaying expensive items in public.  We recommend getting a bum bag in which you can keep your passport and money.  Have one small enough to wear around your waist under your clothes.  We also keep small bills in a seperate area so we don't need to pull out large bills or wads of money in public.
